Participatory mapping of small scale fisheries - polygons
Participatory mapping of small-scale fishing. Small-scale fishing effort is provided in the form of polygons, drawn by fishermen during the interviews on the standardized grid for the cartographic mapping of the answers, and later digitalized.
The dataset contains information about the fishing effort in terms of fishing days (per month and per year), related gear, and targeted species.

- Statement
- A participatory approach was chosen for characterizing the SSF segment and mapping its fishing grounds in the proximity of the 4 marine protected areas (MPA) of GFCM Geographical subarea (GSA 10): Regno di Nettuno, Punta Campanella, Santa Maria di Castellabate, and Costa degli Infreschi e della Masseta. Data were collected by Pietro Battaglia and Antonio Di Cintio through individual semi-structured face-to-face interviews with fishers and gathered spatial information was digitalised by Pamela Lattanzi.
